About Dimas Avila
Dimas is an entrepreneur with experience in Business Development and Project Management for more than 5 years in the IT and Energy sector. His career has been within small and medium startups and world leading suppliers; internationally across Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Spain and USA. He has facilitated over 500.000 $ of private funding to support his own startups.
Dimas has a proven track record in develop sales and marketing strategies, building strong relationships with potential partners, investor or suppliers, plan, direct and manage business development activities. Ensure the effective achievement of the business development functional objectives, through the leadership of the division, he is responsible for determining the potential profit that the company can garner from a given market and must compare this to the costs that the company might incur.
Dimas also has participated in several entrepreneurship competitions in Venezuela, Spain and France. He and his team won in 2010 the “Forma tu Idea contest” powered by Simon Bolivar University Technological Park. In 2012, he was nominated to participate in the Telefonica Accelerator Program Wayra Week, Finalist in the Innovact Campus Award the Europe's most innovative students, young researchers and entrepreneurs contest, the competition is organized by the Chambers of Commerce in Reims, France. In 2013 Dimas and his company participated in Valencian Global is the regional accelerating program for innovative companies in the Valencian Community. Eleven carefully selected companies with high potential for global growth will increase their annual revenues by twenty within 5 years.
Dimas is always willing to help and advise about new ventures, sometimes he works as a volunteer giving coaching sessions to new entrepreneurs and has been invited to speak about entrepreneurship at somes universities and entrepreneurship events.
