Radio Waatea is a leading Maori radio station based in Auckland, New Zealand. Established in 2016, we are committed to providing news and entertainment to the Maori population as well as all other New Zealanders. Our mission is to be the best source of information for our listeners on various topics related to Maori culture, social issues, and current affairs. We strive to provide an inclusive platform that celebrates the diversity of Aotearoa.At Radio Waatea we provide a variety of services from Iwi radio stations tailored specifically for each tribe, Te Reo News broadcasts featuring stories from around the country delivered in te reo Māori, and daily updates about new developments within our iwi networks via our Maori Podcasts. We also offer special programming dedicated towards educating listeners about issues currently facing Indigenous communities throughout New Zealand such as health care and education reform.
