At RIMROCK Books, we celebrate the deep connection between nature, history, and storytelling. Founder Peter Sandel developed a profound love for the Pacific Northwest from an early age, exploring the landscapes of Central Oregon. Inspired by encounters with legendary historians Phil Brogan and Rube Long, Peter’s passion for storytelling grew, shaping his creative journey. With a background in writing, design, and illustration, Peter spent 30 years as a creative director, crafting award-winning content. His formative experiences along the Deschutes River, hiking and fishing, influenced his storytelling, blending nature, history, and culture into immersive narratives. At RIMROCK Books, we bring authentic, compelling stories that reflect the spirit of the land and its people. Our mission is to share the rich heritage of the West through engaging literature that inspires and educates. Join us on this journey through time and nature!
