Our Story
The Argentine Trading Company Ltd was established in London in 2000 as an importer of Argentine equestrian equipment, operating from a small depot in Camden Town. Recognising the vast scale of the equestrian marketplace, we chose to focus on what Argentina excels at on horseback: the sport of polo. In 2002, Ona was officially born as a specialist supplier of polo equipment.
The idea of developing a polo-specific glove quickly became our primary objective. From the outset, we committed to providing technical solutions with intelligent design, combining the highest-performing materials available for each intended use. In early 2003, we launched our first product, the Ona Polo Dura Grip glove, in time for the UK High Goal Season. That same year, two legendary Argentine polo teams, Indios Chapaleufu I and Indios Chapaleufu II, debuted with Ona gloves at the 110th Argentine Open in Palermo.
The following season marked our first major milestone: Indios Chapaleufu II won the 111th Argentine Open wearing Ona Polo Dura Grip gloves. Today, we are proudly endorsed by thousands of polo players worldwide who have made Ona the number one brand in polo gloves.
