Cancer kills because it is mostly detected in later stages, when it is already too late. However, if detected in its earliest stages of development, cancer can be cured in 90% of cases. That is why early detection is the most important weapon to fight and beat cancer. The problem? There is no simple and accurate tests for the early detection of the most important types of cancer. Universal Diagnostics (UDX) is developing a technological platform for the development of blood tests for the early detection of the most prevalent types of cancer. UDX works in the intersection between metabolomics (the analysis of the smallest molecules that circulates in the blood stream) and bioinformatics, and has developed a panel of 50 biomarkers (small molecules) for the early detection of cancer. The first product, a blood test for the early detection of colorectal cancer and polyps (pre-cancerous stage), will reach the global markets in Q3 2017. Lung cancer test will follow in 2018.
