About Alberto Benbunan

Founder and Managing Director of Mobile Dreams Factory. Emerging Media and Mobile Marketing Professor at IE Business School. In the mid 1990s, he founded several successful Internet start-up companies in Venezuela such as Ticketron Venezuela (tickets for events by phone and Internet), Webtron (Internet Project developments), Promotron (Events and Promotions Organizer) and TuCupon LLC. CEO (Offline and Online discount coupons). At the same time, Mr. Benbunan was Chapter Manager of “Wap Wednesday - Wireless Around People" a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of wireless technologies worldwide. When he moved to Europe, he was appointed European Business Development Director at MobileSpear and later International Business Development Manager at Marca's Newspaper, the most read newspaper in Spain (Grupo Recoletos part of Pearson Group). In 2004, he founded "MobileDreams Factory" one of the leading European mobile marketing and advertising agencies with offices in Spain and United States. Since its inception, MobileDreams has been involved in the mobile area with innovative campaigns. MobileDreams has been awarded with many different international awards such as MMA Awards, Cannes Lions, Eurobest, El Sol, etc. Currently, MobileDreams is working with several high profile customers such as Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Adidas, Renault, Heineken, Movistar, and Cepsa, among others. Mr. Benbunan teach Emerging Media and Mobile Marketing at IE Business School, is chairman of 3 global committees at the Mobile Marketing Association and works in many different non-profit organizations in Europe and Israel.

  • Mi criterio de inversión en Startups es el siguiente:
  • * Conceptos Invertibles. Cualquier Startup que automatice procesos de negocios y/o de las personas (productividad). Foodtech es uno de los sectores que mas me gusta y también estoy empezando a invertir en este sector, especialmente en Tecnología para Restaurantes y Supermercados.
  • * Modelo de Negocio y Crecimiento. Que esté facturando al menos 1.000 euros en los últimos 3 meses y que puedan demostrar algún crecimiento en los últimos 6 meses.
  • * Variables. Es importante, el equipo, el mercado, el problema a resolver y el producto (la solución), en ese orden.
  • * Fase. Invierto en startups en fase semilla (early stage).
  • * Monto de Inversión. Invierto desde 5.000€ a 30.000€.
  • * Alcance Geográfico. Con la globalización, las inversiones para mi no tienen que estar en la misma ciudad (o a driving-distance como dicen los americanos). Me gustan las inversiones en Silicon Valley, en Israel o en España, siempre que los puntos anteriores se cumplan.
  • * Variables excluyentes. Que no haya estado en más de 2 incubadoras (aunque existen excepciones).
