Understanding the investment opportunity

Momoven is the leading platform for peer-to-peer motorcycle rental in Spain. It connects motorcycle owners who want to rent out their bikes when not in use with riders who want to enjoy different motorcycles in an easy, flexible, and secure way.

Momoven has created the perfect platform for anyone dreaming of enjoying a motorcycle to do so by choosing from thousands of different models, for as long as they want, and in the city of their choice. Additionally, it gives owners the opportunity to offer their motorcycles for rent and earn extra income while they're idle.

Momoven was founded in 2019 when two childhood friends, passionate about motorcycling, tried to rent out their motorcycle, realizing there was no available platform. They also noticed that without owning a motorcycle, it was challenging to rent one, either due to the lack of high-displacement motorcycle rental companies in their city or because the available models were very limited.

Aware of the success of this model in other types of products (cars, accommodations, boats...), they saw the opportunity to be the first to apply it to motorcycles in Spain.

For this reason, they saw clearly that they had to create a platform that met the needs of both parties: motorcycles could be rented in any location, thousands of models were available, and rentals had the same legal guarantees as traditional rentals (insurance, rental contract, payment management...).

This flexibility of being able to rent out your motorcycle anywhere in Spain has allowed them to obtain over 6,000 motorcycles for rent distributed throughout the country and become the platform with the most available rental models in all of Spain.

Additionally, Momoven knows the motorcycles that are most rented in the cities where rentals are high, which is why it's beginning to introduce its own fleet in these cities at fully autonomous management logistics centers. Currently, they're in Madrid, Valencia, and soon in Barcelona and Malaga. In these centers, users can pick up and drop off motorcycles without the need for staff presence.

Momoven aims to become the reference platform in the motorcycle world through which users can enjoy any motorcycle, anywhere in the world, and for the period of time they choose.

ATTENTION: The investment round in Momoven is structured as follows:

  • Direct investment in the Startup for its current partners and for the signatories of previous convertible notes that capitalise in this round.
  • The rest of the partners through the subscription of shares in the Investment Company, provided that it reaches a minimum of 5% stake in the Startup. If this is not reached, the investment will be direct investment in the Startup, and the investors will be channelled through a Syndicate.

There is a circumstance that we must highlight: if when capital gains are generated, the Investment Company has seen its participation reduced to below 5% of Momoven, said capital gains will be subject to double taxation, due to the non-exemption of corporate tax. We will implement mechanisms to try to avoid this, but you must be aware of this circumstance.

  • STRATEGIC PARTNER: The entry of the strategic partner Malco Rent a Car, a company specialized in car rental and leasing, not only shares its know-how but also provides Momoven with its own fleet of motorcycles to meet the demand for both leasing and daily rentals.

  • SCALABILITY: Momoven's scalability lies in automation, both in the reservation processes and in the process of adding motorcycles, being prepared for exponential growth both in the national and international markets.
  • MILESTONES: In the last 3 years, Momoven has multiplied its growth x20, going from €40,000 to surpassing €1,000,000 in 2023. There are already over 40,000 users, 6,000 rental motorcycles, over 10,000 rental days completed, and the first 3 logistics centers with their own fleet have been opened in Spain.
  • TRUST: Momoven has earned the trust of various stakeholders in the entrepreneurial world, being selected by the accelerator Lanzadera for its Garage program, winner of the Órbita program (considered the best startup acceleration program in Spain), and entities like ENISA, Banco Santander, ICO, and IVF (Valencian Institute of Finance) have placed their trust in Momoven through funding.
  • MARKET: Europe has over 28 million motorcycles and 84 million licensed motorcycle riders. In Spain alone, there are over 5 million motorcycles, making it the fourth country in Europe with the largest motorcycle fleet. Additionally, the motorcycle market is growing at rates between 8% and 10% annually. This, coupled with the new consumption trends that prioritize usage over ownership as we're already seeing in other sectors (accommodations, cars, boats...), positions Momoven at the forefront to lead this change in the motorcycle world.
  • TEAM: The Momoven team has the experience and necessary training to cover the main areas of the project and take it to the next level.
  • CREDIBILITY: In 2019, Momoven conducted its first round of investment with the aim of validating the business model, and they did so by obtaining an offer of 1,000 rental motorcycles and completing the first 1,000 rentals. In 2022, they launched their second round of investment through Startuxplore with the aim of launching an app, validating the rental model (long-term rental), and exceeding €1M in GMV. This objective has been more than achieved; in one year, they closed €500,000 in rental contracts, launched an app for both iOS and Android, and GMV exceeds €1.6M.
  • COMPETITION: They differentiate themselves from their competition in what users value most, which is the variety of models, the ability to choose their dream motorcycle from thousands of motorcycles, and the territorial coverage, ensuring that their dream motorcycle can be rented near their city.
  • OPPORTUNITY: Momoven sees the opportunity to create a motorcycle rental platform with international impact. In the motorcycle rental market, there are many traditional businesses, little digitalized, but there isn't a large player covering this niche. There are dozens of car rental companies (Hertz, Avis, Ok Mobility, Europcar...), but how many do you know of motorcycle rental?
