Understanding the investment opportunity
Especially in Spain, Southern Europe and Latin America there is a structural gap between university and business, known as the talent paradox. While young graduates suffer high unemployment rates of up to 24%, the 60% of companies report not finding the talent they need.
This gap hinders the attraction of talent in companies, due to high selection costs derived from the complexity of evaluating real competencies, and on the other hand slows down the incorporation of key skills and capabilities for their adaptation to the rapid digital and sustainable transformation, limiting their innovation and competitiveness.
U4IMPACT has developed a platform that allows companies to develop innovative projects together with university talent, taking advantage of students' End-of-Degree and Master's Projects (TFG/M), to convert these academic hours into real valuable solutions.
In this way, organizations can attract and evaluate young talent from 60 universities in a practical context while developing innovation at scale, incorporating the vision of new generations into projects that save up to 460 hours of internal work and involve cost reductions of up to 5 times.

How does it work for companies?
- Challenge identification: companies receive personalized recommendations based on their sector and business area, and publish challenges and projects aligned with their needs.
- Matching and qualification: thousands of students from 60 universities apply to the published challenges of their interest. Our platform facilitates candidate qualification and profiling based on competencies, motivation, and skills, recommending the most suitable for each project.
- Project development: our student support methodology is applied with the backing of expert project managers and coordination with the company in 5 follow-up meetings throughout the 4 months of the project.
- Results evaluation, talent pipeline, and employer branding: after the presentation of the projects, we measure the impact, time savings, innovation, and incorporated capabilities. Additionally, the Human Resources departments of the companies access data on visibility in universities and employer brand KPIs, and the young talent pipeline generated through their Talent Corner.
For their part, young people manage to graduate having used their academic hours to develop useful projects applied to the professional world, gaining valuable experience, multiplying their employability by 3, and even being incorporated into the companies themselves.
U4IMPACT works with dozens of companies, entities, and administrations across Spain to transform the more than 100 million hours that students invest each year in academic projects into a source of real innovation and employability for companies and university students.
