About Marcelo Lopes

I began my career as a physicist working with nonlinear electronic circuits modeling. Passionate about science, I joinned the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC) to help promote the diffusion of knowledge through dissemination actions. At SBPC I've developed Web 1.0 sites and Hypertext applications. Seeing the Internet potential at that time, I've founded my first company (DPmais) at age 22. In 2010 I accepted the challenge of leading the development of fleet tracking (GPS / GPRS) and asset tracking (RFID) solutions (hardware, embedded software, mobile frontend and cloud backend) for a medium-sized corporation that provides services to the Brazilian government. The experience and skills acquired in the development of embedded systems led me to found my second company (ITLabs Technology), focused on the Internet of Things (IoT) market. Starting 2015 ITLabs will seek investment and internationalization through the European market. I truly believe that we are going through a very unique moment. The Internet of Things will merge the physical world and the virtual world to create a highly personalized connected experience. This will make life easy, comfortable and more efficient with the help of mobility and cloud.
