About ISO 20000 certification
This document is applicable to any organization that provides services to customers. This includes consultancy organizations, network operators, utilities, manufacturers, and virtually any other organization that provides services. An SMS has an internal goal of providing value-added services by guiding service providers in delivering customer satisfaction in a cost-effective manner.
The scope of this document is to improve the service management capability of an organization by providing a set of requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an SMS. It does not specify or recommend specific processes or integration with other management systems. Processes and procedures for service management are not within the scope of this document.
