About Startup Ireland

Startup Ireland is an independent, not-for-profit partnership for Ireland’s startup sector. The startup sector in Ireland comprises startups and their supporters in Research Centres, Tech Transfer Offices, Incubation/CoWorking Space Providers, Commercial Attaches at Embassies, Professional Services Providers (Accountants, Lawyers, Patent Agents), Innovation Managers at large Corporates, Investors, State Enterprise Support Agencies, Country Network Associations/Chambers, Mentor/Angel Investors and the Diaspora. By startup we mean high impact businesses that have the potential to grow rapidly internationally thereby creating significant jobs and innovation in Ireland. As a member of the international Startup Nations network our focus is at the strategic level on those systemic, framework conditions which can lead to a sustained improvement in conditions for high impact entrepreneurship in Ireland.. Our mission (captured in our Vision2020 strategy) is to help Ireland become a global startup hub by 2020, working together with all interested parties we can make Ireland the best place in the world to establish a high growth startup. This in turn will help lead to Ireland becoming a leading global destination for high impact startups that want to scale up rapidly, effectively a “Startup Island”.
