Providing your child with a well-rounded education is a priority we share with you as a parent. Amatus Kids Academy is a 24 hour, parent-created schedule facility that offers the fundamentals to enhance learning, safety, health and development for your child while allowing them to do what kids do best – have fun.
WHAT IS PARENT-CREATED CHILD CARE?
• “I’ve called all the family child care providers near me.
• I’m frustrated because I only need three hours of care a day and I can’t find anyone to take my baby.
• No one wants a child for those few hours. I’d hire an in-home caregiver but I can’t afford it.”
• “I’m not going back to work so I don’t really need regular child care. But I do feel my child needs friends, and so do I.”
• “I use family child care during the day, but I occasionally need child care at night or on the weekend. I need the time to myself, but I can’t seem to stretch my budget enough to get it.”
Each of these parents has a different child care situation, but they all have one thing in common – they want child care that is not readily available. But all is not lost! With a little help and energy, parents can create their own child care arrangements and schedule with us. Parent-created child care is the care you develop when traditional choices like family child care homes or child care centres don’t work for you and your child.
The advantage of our parent-created care is that parents make up their own monthly care schedule suited to their needs. There is no right or wrong way – whatever works is right. Parent-created care can vary according to the desires of the parents involved. Some care takes place on a regular schedule, other types of care happen on an as-needed basis.
Flexibility is at the heart of care that parents create to meet their own needs. Amatus believes that parents should be able to choose either traditional or parent-created child care, ultimately the care that “works” for the individual parent and his/her children. Our goal is to facilitate all forms of child care choices and to provide the support that parents request so these choices are available and ever expanding.
