Thermoelectric generator for heavy trucks and buses It is known, that about 40% of energy produced by internal combustion engine is lost in exhaust heat. Continuously rising fuel prices constitute a huge problem for logistic and transport companies, because they work in highly competitive environment with high revenues and relatively low margins. Thus we have developed simple and cheap technology of electric power generation using exhaust heat produced by internal combustion engine. The patented technology of thermoelectric generator (TEG) module fabrication is based on the Seebeck effect, i.e. direct conversion of the heat flow into the electric power. The module is installed close to the engine where the temperature of exhaust gas can reach up to 1000°C. This allows to achieve the maximum efficiency of power generation. Installation of this module reduces the fuel consumption up to 5%!
