About Las CulpaSS

Las CulpaSS (Martaé Martínez Martínez and Alexandra Cánovas del Rey) are two friends who live in Murcia (Spain) and feel a special connection working together. Designers and Fashion & Jewelry artisans, their fashion and complements collections transmit a kind of provocative and aggressive image. They have worked since 2010 with a DIY philosophy producing at home and working with their hands with anger and affection. We could say that “Las CulpaSS” began unconsciously in their minds when they were teenagers and that the project grows with each work they concieve. Influenced by punk, feminism and riot grrrls, they create a subversive speech around the woman’s body and the concept of femininity to question the stereotypes assumed by traditional roles. Like this, they attack the unequality, frustration, and submission of the woman that, now plenty conscious of her rights, constaly sees them denied again and again for a reality which is controlled by a phatriarcal role that develops slower than the human mind.
