radAR Set-up is designed to help solving the patient positioning and movement control problems using Augmented Reality.
We propose to use these techniques to improve patient positioning in real-time and provide automatic movement monitoring before and during the treatment, as well as providing the therapist with all the information related to the treatment in a novel non intrusive way.
A standard treatment requires anywhere between 20 and 30 daily radiation delivery sessions, during which it essential to ensure that the patient’s position is accurately reproduced every day. There are various systems for achieving this accurate positioning, but they all suffer from different problems. Our proposal is to use augmented reality techniques to improve positioning accuracy without altering the normal processes or lengthening the time needed to place each patient and deeming delivery of additional doses unnecessary
