About Jason John Ruen
Jason John Ruen is the Senior Associate Attorney with the law firm of Stewart J. Guss, Attorney at Law. Jason was born in Rochester, Minnesota, and moved to Texas in the early 1980s. Jason received his Bachelor’s and Masters degrees in English from Sam Houston State University. Jason taught English at Huntsville high school, Sam Houston State University and Lone Star College before becoming a Financial Services Associate with Prudential Financial. While working with Prudential, Jason obtained his Series Seven stockbroker and Group One insurance licenses. Jason left the financial services industry to attend law school at South Texas College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. While attending law school, Jason was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient; a member of the Order of the Lytae, the National Security Law Society, and the honors legal fraternity, Phi Delta Phi; and an assistant editor at Law Review. His article “Selling Your Death: Regulating Investor Initiated Life Insurance Contracts as Securities” was chosen for publication in the South Texas Law Review. In addition to being admitted to practice law in the state of Texas, Jason has been admitted to the Federal Court in the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, the District of Colorado, and the District of Nebraska.
Jason is a proud husband and father of two and a devoted family man. Jason is an active member of his local church, Kinsman Lutheran, and is often out running the roads, preparing for his next marathon.
