Tribal Interactive develops online, and mobile apps of any size. Tribal was founded by Chad and Kris McFarlin in March 2010, and is based in Vancouver, BC. CEO Chad McFarlinʼs strengths lie in building companies, teams and innovative digital products from the ground up. He has led teams developing for next-generation systems at Electronic Arts and THQ Canada (Relic Entertainment), culminating in the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, and other console titles. Chad also cultivated The Electric Playground from start- up to successful enterprise. As producer, he produced the television shows EP Daily and Reviews on the Run. His marketing and promotions work for Nintendo of Canada Ltd. included launching Nintendoʼs first website and titles including Goldeneye and Pokémon. Prior to launching Tribal Interactive, technical director Kris McFarlin directed research and development at Saltmine Studios, and developed massively multiplayer online gaming engines. The first deployment of pay-per-view simulcasting technology for the NHL was developed by Kris in conjunction with the Vancouver Canucks and Novus. He also created a video game rental system compatible with Microsoft DRM, and was the technical lead for the Lara Croft Tomb Raider Jeep Challenge. Kris has also been the technical consultant for organizations including Bell Canada, the Vancouver Canucks, Rainmaker Digital Films, Travel Alberta and Arcʼteryx.
